Pictures and information about the Mooneye can be found here. These bait fish are very common in the Finger Lakes of NY. Often times they school and can be seen at dusk skipping the water's surface; if you are lucky enough to see this you have a hot fishing spot near you. Find the edge of the school and cast with a stick bait and you are likely to catch one of the fish that are feeding on the bait fish.
