The Team
It was love of the outdoors that brought this website and blog to life, but it was friendship that brought us all together. If you can't tell from our blog posts and pictures, we eat, sleep and breath the outdoors, whether it is hunting, fishing, camping or just spending a lazy day out at the local park. Want to know more about the three of us (and we are currently looking for one more if you want to be a part of our team!)? Then scroll on down and read away.

I guess you can say that the investment my family made in the form of my North Carolina Lifetime Sportsman License when I was just an infant turned out to be a darn good one, especially since every year you can find me on the lake, walking a stream or back in the woods somewhere! I was introduced to hunting and fishing at an early age, joining my dad and grandpaw on scouting trips as early as 8 years old and fishing ever since I could hold a fishing rod (I have a "fish hook in the ear" story to prove it). If I wasn't doing those two things, you could find me outside playing in the dirt, "hunting" birds in the backyard with my BB gun or exploring any patch of woods I could find.
That exploratory nature carried over in my high school and college years to include hiking and backpacking and I haven't looked back since. Earning a degree in Construction Engineering made finding time to enjoy the outdoors hard, but somehow I managed to do so. Now that I am currently working as a utility pole auditor, I don't get out on the trails as often as I would like, but nothing beats climbing a high mountain ridge as the sun is rising or having wild ponies run by your campsite in the dead of the night. What I do make sure I do as much as possible is enjoy my first loves: Hunting and fishing. From the cluttered rod rack and tackle boxes to my overflowing tubs of hunting accessories and clothes, one might think I am just a little obsessed with these two hobbies. But they aren't just hobbies to me, they are my life. They are what I turn to for relaxation and it is my passion for them that led me to create this website and blog. A passion I passed on to Chris and led to a great friend in Paul. A passion that my wife sees and wants to experience too. And finally a passion that I just had to share with others.

I was born into a family of outdoorsmen and women, and from a very early age I gained not only a love, but a respect for the outdoors! Starting around age five I can remember going hunting with my Dad and Grandfather, tagging along with my plastic BB gun and experiencing hunting of all kinds for the first time. These times spent in the woods are some of my best childhood memories, all of which I believe have shaped my love for the outdoors.
Currently I reside in North Carolina; however I have more experience hunting and fishing in New York state where I grew up. Soon after I moved to NC I met Cory, who has shown me the ropes down here. The majority of my time hunting is spent chasing white-tailed deer in both NC and NY, however I do enjoy waterfowl hunting, which I took up about two years ago and have been pretty successful at over the last couple of years. Apart from duck and deer hunting, I also enjoy any chance to get out and hunt small game, turkey, crow, etc.
I also try to spend as much time as possible out on the lakes. Unfortunately I have yet to do much fishing in North Carolina but I hope to change that soon. I do however have a lot of experience fishing the Finger Lakes in Upstate New York, everything from trout to bass to Northern pike!
A Software Engineer by trade, I spend most of my time during the week in a cubicle so I take every chance I can to get outside! When I'm not hunting or fishing, I love to camp and hike when I have the spare time to do so. Sharing the outdoors with others is also a passion of mine so I try to introduce my friends (looking at you Chris!) to new outdoor activities as much as I can, whether this be in the form of shooting, hunting or fishing. I guess this desire to share the outdoors is why I'm working with Cory on Inside Out so that we can bring our experiences to as many folks as possible.
