Now those days are but memories we look back on fondly. Times when life didn't get in the way and where work, taxes, a mortgage and a family were the last things on our mind. Often it seems hard to pull off the daily grind highway and take a moment to reconnect with our inner child, that inner carefree spirit. But within the adult world lies our own playground and it's just outside your cubicle, away from the computer and down the street from where you live and work.
It's where camo-clad hunters chase wary ungulates known as whitetails, mulies, elk and moose and fisherman stalk clear, cold swift creeks for the sight of rising rainbows and browns. Where skiers glide effortlessly down corduroy mountain peaks, hikers take to the trail with their families for a picnic and that place where you and your coworkers play hookey on the first sunny, warm Spring day to get in an afternoon round of golf, hoping like hell the big boss isn't on the course too. It's this place, the Great Outdoors, that is our playground and, my friends, it is time for us to bring back recess.
